C2 SYSTEMS WIRELESS DISCOVERY ROADMAP

Seven Ways to Reduce Cost and Increase Efficiency of Wireless Deployments

A high-performance and reliable wireless system is mandatory for every building environment. Consistent smart device operation within buildings is universal and expected with the demand for more and more IoT applications driving a need for increased bandwidth. C2 Systems’ approach to reduce costs and increase efficiencies includes good planning and design, efficient and reliable implementation, and consideration for day-two operation.

We have broken our SEVEN WAYS to reduce costs and increase efficiency into three main groups. Planning and design, implementation and operation.

PLANNING AND DESIGN

  1. Begin with a site survey
  2. Allow for growth and expandability
  3. Incorporate public safety requirements

IMPLEMENTATION

  1. Choose a skilled, experienced installer
  2. Test and optimize your system

OPERATION

  1. Ensure remote monitoring capability
  2. Create and enable a robust maintenance plan

1. Begin with wireless site survey

A cost-effective and highly efficient in-building wireless system starts with great design, and great design kicks off with a thorough and comprehensive site survey. The survey should take accurate and detailed measurements of the existing RF environment throughout the entire structure; subsequent design then considers the unique features of each building. A good survey and design includes existing infrastructure and cabling, structure and area layout. Beginning with a proper site survey sets you up for success by helping you prepare for any contingencies.

C2 Systems utilizes the latest survey and measurement tools for 3G, 4G, 5G, LTE, CDMA, UMTS, 1xEV-DO as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 standards. We deliver a robust design to our customers that overcomes venue obstacles and network performance requirements.

2. Allow for growth and expandability

Your in-building system shouldn’t just meet today’s needs, it must be ready for tomorrow as well. Growth in usage and changes in technology don’t necessarily require costly redesigns or retrofits if you plan now for what you’ll need in the future.

C2 Systems’ team of experienced engineers and technicians provide an optimal survey and design process to ensure the best coverage and performance, now and in the future. We have completed designs at some of the largest airports, stadiums, universities, hospitals and densely populated enterprise campus environments.

3. Incorporate public safety requirements

Public safety systems require different frequency bands designated exclusively for first responders, which vary by location. The requirement to provide reliable communications for first responders is becoming universal to meet building codes. Your in-building system needs to ensure dependable voice communication, data, telemetry and location information for public safety.

4. Choose a skilled, experienced installer

Picking the lowest bidder may not pay off in the long term.

Carefully choosing a vendor with experience installing high-quality wireless solutions should be a priority above the bottom line, because those change orders and revisits will cost you time and money.

With years of experience deploying our customized solutions to environments of every size—from small businesses to large stadium venues—C2 Systems conducts superior installation for every project.

5. Test and optimize your system

Once the system is installed, it needs to be run through its paces before the end user does it for you.

During commissioning, the vendor should use tools to collect reference signal received power (RSRP), signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR), received signal strength indication (RSSI), RXQUAL, Ec/No, received signal code power (RSCP), scrambling Code/BSIC, and other metrics.  Any anomalies need to be addressed now, not after the end user finds the issues for you.

Finally, save and document all this information as a baseline.

6. Remote monitoring capability

Instant awareness of issues with your system is essential.  With a remote monitoring solution, you will have better control over your network while reducing the cost of deploying resources.

C2 Systems provides remote monitoring for distributed antenna systems (DAS), as well as public safety networks, cell sites and utility sites. Our monitoring and management solutions afford the ability to keep your network reliable and up to speed at all times. These solutions include our proprietary, customized software, SitePortal®.

7. Create and enable a robust maintenance plan

A remote monitoring system is only as good as the people watching it. You need an experienced team of technicians to monitor, troubleshoot and call out support for your network.

C² Systems’ Network Operation Center (NOC) professionals have decades of experience managing even the most complex sites and venues, from large stadium DAS systems to critical communication networks.
